The Last Resort is TEA@UCSD's first haunted house. It was haunted hotel themed, celebrating the glamor of 1950s hotels. Each room was themed to be a different hotel room, each containing a separate fear in hopes of "defeating" the guests into staying "permanently."
As co-project director with Robert Ketchum, I co-led a team of 60 students to plan, construct, and operate the haunt at UCSD for students to enjoy for one night in the fall. It had a record-breaking attendance of 1860 people. As a project manager, I oversaw layout, set design, lighting, sound, scare actors, finance, costumes, safety, special effects, and props, as well as delegated tasks while working closely with UCSD’s University Events Office. In addition, I trained multiple sub-committee leaders to run various groups in certain aspects of maze planning. I also made our main marketing materials, including the poster you see here. This was built, operated, and deconstructed in one night, but took 7 months to plan.
